Cohesity Introduces Hybrid Cloud Strategy

April 14, 2016

According to recent research from Markets and Markets, the hybrid cloud market is set to experience impressive growth over the next few years. While the space already sat at a healthy $25.28 billion in 2014, it’s expected to spring ahead to $84.67 billion by 2019. As such, Cohesity’s recently announced hybrid cloud strategy couldn’t come at a better time.

A provider of hyperconverged secondary storage, Cohesity wants to empower its customers to leverage the cost efficiency and agility of cloud infrastructure with its new strategy. Cohesity’s unified, intelligent storage platform was designed from the ground up to integrate seamlessly with public and private cloud services, enabling organizations to take a comprehensive approach to cloud adoption with CloudArchive, CloudTier, and CloudReplicate.

However, many larger organizations today want to harness the benefits of the cloud while still retaining the value of existing on-premises data and infrastructure. For such organizations, a complete migration to the cloud could prove highly disruptive and needlessly expensive. In addition, these organizations face challenges associated with having data for different use cases spread across multiple silos. This kind of storage fragmentation can make it difficult to get a complete picture of a company’s data use and overall capacity, in turn making it nearly impossible to evaluate what can be moved to the cloud.

To combat this, Cohesity consolidates all of a customer’s data on a unified, intelligent platform that offers complete storage visibility. Cohesity’s cloud strategy also delivers the tools needed to easily identify the right workloads and data for cloud migration to achieve maximum effectiveness at the lowest possible cost.

“Leveraging cloud services to help our team be more agile and efficient is a key initiative for us, which is why we’re excited about Cohesity’s cloud strategy,” said Peter Cho, core infrastructure architect at the event management technology company Cvent, a Cohesity customer. “Their solution offers us an on-premise, hyperconverged platform for our private cloud with a complete set of public cloud integration points, including cloud archiving, tiering and remote replication, to span a range of use cases from backup to test/dev.”

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
