Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: VMware, Veritas, HPE & More

The cloud was once shrouded in mystery, but today this developer and data playground is opening the door to additional revenue, performance and efficiency. And, this week, Veritas announced new cloud management options to bring more value into cloud-based operations. Steve Anderson’s complete coverage is HERE.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced this week that it has extended its partnership with Arista Networks. The duo started working together in 2015 to develop a converged infrastructure reference, and today the two will expand their relationship as a result of HPE naming Arista Networks a preferred networking partner in a software defined networking environment creating a cornucopia of options for customers. A big piece of the modern data center is optical transport, and Sogou, a Chinese firm that offers mobile Internet products and services, input solutions as well as search engines, announced this week that is has selected Coriant’s 7100 Nano Packet Optical Transport platform. The solution will serve as the firm’s new high-capacity Data Center Interconnect (DCI) network’s backbone. Read the entire article HERE.

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.

Fiber Mountain is exhibiting at Cisco Live! In Las Vegas for the first time ever! Our first day was hugely successful from just about any perspective - from quantity and quality of booth visitors to successful meetings with customers.
