Acuative Announces Bandwidth Speed and Cost Breakthroughs with SD-WAN and Distributed NFV Solutions for Retailers at NRF's Annual Convention & EXPO -"Retail's Big Show"

Acuative, a global provider of wall-to-wall technology solutions and support for retail chains, today announced it is working with Ciena® to offer a new retail-focused solution based upon Distributed Network Function Virtualization (D-NFV). The Acuative and Ciena teams will show at NRF how their combined technologies can enable retailers to better compete by maintaining pace with ever-changing network requirements.

D-NFV is an innovative networking technology that leverages virtualization and the many tangible business benefits associated with rapid software development cycles allowing forward-looking retailers to host critical network functions, such as encryption and firewalls, on premise where they are best situated to ensure a highly reliable and secure network - the cornerstone of any connected business.

Retailers can significantly reduce onsite network equipment requirements, while maintaining or even surpassing existing performance requirements, for notable improvements in power, space, and security coupled with a quicker and more agile deployment model. In working with Ciena, Acuative can provide a simple and cost-effective D-NFV solution tailored to the specific needs of retailers embroiled in a hyper-competitive retail environment.

"D-NFV makes use of virtualization at the network edge to provide retailers with a secure and scalable means of rapidly adapting to changing network requirements," says Joe Cumello, Vice President of Global Marketing at Ciena.

Along with the D-NFV solution, Acuative will demonstrate how retailers can accelerate their WAN transformation with Software Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN). Acuative's SD-WAN solution delivers more bandwidth at a lower cost, helping retailers gain significant financial benefits while improving customer experience.

Acuative'slifecycle support includes consulting, implementation, hardware, broadband circuits, 24/7 monitoring, on-site maintenance, and ongoing management. This enables retailers to be better positioned to harness the power and savings of SD-WAN and D-NFV. Acuative offers retail chains a powerful combination of expertise, round-the-clock availability, and extensive technical resources, simplifying the entire process of managing retail technology. SD-WAN and D-NFV by Acuative deliver improved application performance, security, and "zero touch" provisioning to quickly add new sites or make network changes easily.

Josh Levine, Senior Vice President for Acuative said, "D-NFV and SD-WAN are true game-changers for retailers. They enable retailers to power more technology that improves the customer experience and cut costs at the same time. It is a completely new level of speed, power and cost savings. The difference in SD-WAN and D-NFV by Acuative is that we guide the retailer to make choices that are most profitable for their business and to position them for future growth."

Acuative, in partnership with Ciena, will be hosting a Virtual Reality Indy car race game during the NRF Expo. Retailers are welcome to stop by and test their driving skills to win a Fitbit® Ionic fitness watch and other prizes. They can race a VR Indy car at speeds over 200 mph on the famous 2.3 mile Laguna Seca raceway in California. At the close of each day, the top three drivers will be invited back to the "Acuative/Ciena Winner's Circle," for a prize presentation.

Acuative will also present its Total Store Care service, which includes wall-to-wall support, installation, monitoring, and maintenance for all store technology systems, including VoIP, Guest WiFi (News - Alert), Mobility, IoT, Analytics, and Digital Media for signage and displays.

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
