Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Gemalto, Ponemon, Network Automation & More

This week, Gemalto and Ponemon Institute unveiled the results of the “2018 Global Cloud Data Security Study,” illustrating exactly how large the divide is in regard to cloud security precautions in place. Data is the most valuable commodity in business today, and protecting customers should top the priority list for firms. Take a dive into the study’s results HERE.

Telefonica and Huawei paired up in the name of testing. The tests would involve running Huawei’s T-SDN solution through the paces of planning, management, monitoring and diagnosis of Telefonica’s photonic mesh. “We were interested in seeing how T-SDN technology can help Telefónica in many different areas,” said Director of IP Connectivity and Transport at Telefónica España María Antonia Crespo; the test results HERE.

Speaking of software-defined networking, a recent report from Telecoms and Computing Markets puts a valuation of $2.32 billion on the 2017 network automation market, with expectations of the space reaching $16.89 billion by 2022. Complete insight and analysis is HERE.

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.

Fiber Mountain is exhibiting at Cisco Live! In Las Vegas for the first time ever! Our first day was hugely successful from just about any perspective - from quantity and quality of booth visitors to successful meetings with customers.
