Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: LinkedIn, Fiber Mountain, Gartner, & More

June 11, 2016

As you’ve heard me say before, when it comes to network transformation, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t and look around once in a while you could miss it.” Those words spoken by a young Matthew Broderick ring truer today than ever, especially in the data center. And, with the weekend upon us, no better time to stop and look around: Time for the Week in Review.

We all know LinkedIn, regardless of what industry you are in; chances are you have a LinkedIn account. Well, the social media platform was tasked with the strain growth places on the network. So instead of band-aiding and half-measures the firm created a new service: LinkedIn’s Platform-as-a-Service. And, the community had the pleasure of hearing this from a special guest from the company known for business networking. The complete article is HERE.

Also this week, the community discussed one of Gartner’s newly announced ‘Cool Vendors’, Fiber Mountain. Areas of innovation like SDN, mobile and the IoT – to name a few – are serving as the impetus for serious network transformation, and this virtualization pioneer is getting due attention for its continuous development in the space. The complete report is HERE.

The Jacob Javits Center played host to the Cloud Expo, and I had the opportunity to sit down with a firm making major strides in the software-defined data center (SDDC), Stratoscale. Stratoscale CEO and founder Ariel Maislos explained that by leveraging APIs, the cloud and virtualization it is providing firms with a solution that works out-of-box, with the ability to scale for future growth and demand. The complete report is HERE.

Dell recently put its newest PowerEdge on display, illustrating that it is ready requirements of today and tomorrow. Hardware is quickly becoming Dell’s sweet spot, and the PowerEdge line is but a shining example of such. Find Steve Anderson’s complete analysis HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things network transformation! See you next week!

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth.
