Semtech ClearEdge CDR Begins Production for Data Center Apps
Semtech ClearEdge CDR has started production of its quad with Integrated DML laser driver and added slew of additional features, all at a much lower cost than before. Semtech has always prided itself on creating the leading products for the engineering and global consumer and “a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms.” Coming with the quad ClearEdge CDR will be PSM4, CWDM4 modules used for data center applications. There will still be 100G apps but, again, at a lower rate than offered in the past. Economical and efficient is the way that Semtech is looking to go.

According to Semtech, the new optical networking features are 100G QSFP28 PSM4 and CWDM4 modules; compact 5.0mm x 5.5 mm FC-CSP package; highly differentiated and best-in-class <3.5W module solutions when the transceiver is paired with Semtech's ClearEdge GN2110 Quad CDR with an Integrated TIA; module designs based on chip-on-board optics as well as passive TOSAs to maximize customer flexibility.
It will be exciting to see where Semtech goes next, only time will tell.
