Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Fiber Mountain, NWAX, Interop & More

May 20, 2017

Digital transformation has taken hold, driving a new era of innovation in the data center and beyond. Starting with the transformation of network infrastructure and ending with the user experience, change is in the air. And with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation news: Time for the Week in Review!

While virtually everyone connected to the Internet is experiencing change as a result of digital transformation, it is important to take a step back to see the big picture. Innovation is happening at a fever pitch, and as network technology evolves so too do business models and operations overall. At the end of the day, it starts with people, processes and meeting business challenges. TMC’s Laura Stotler lends insight and analysis HERE.

Northwest Access Exchange (NWAX) is a not-for-profit vendor-neutral network and facility in Portland, Oregon that serves nearly 90 public and private networks. This week, NWAX announced availability in the vXchnge data center, resulting in new interconnections through the vXchnge cloud marketplace. TMC’s Paula Bernier breaks the news down HERE.

Fiber Mountain is making moves. This week at Interop ITX in Las Vegas, the Glass Core Company heated up the news cycle with the announcement of several new products for optical connectivity and network orchestration that were on display at the event. From the new AP OPX family of solutions to its AllPath Director 3.0, Fiber Mountain certainly made some noise. Everything you need to know about the new releases is HERE.

The IoT is coming! The IoT is coming! It is most definitely exciting to ponder the possibilities; however, the thought of scale can turn overwhelming quickly. Extreme Networks announced its ExtremeSwitching X870 series of 100 gigbait fixed form switches – featuring a pay-as-you-grow capability – from Interop this week. Find all the details HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things transforming network infrastructure! See you next week!
