NetSuite Picks Illumio Adaptive Security to Protect Cloud, Data Center Technology

February 01, 2016

The task of reducing risk within data centers and cloud environments has gravitated towards an approach of adaptive security. An example of this need meets security scenario is evident in a recent announcement which shows how NetSuite, which leverages cloud technologies in its application delivery, will be using Illumio to provide adaptive security technology on all of its applications in the cloud and across its numerous data centers.

This distributed software platform delivers protection for communications across tiers of applications on a continual basis. By securing granular segments any protection of workloads and applications, a reduced attack surface helps minimize cyber threat risks, along with centralized policy enforcement. The platform leverages a control model which leverages segmentation into roles, applications, environments, and location.

The adaptive security approach has emerged from the needs of heterogeneous combinations of cloud, data center, and hybrid environments that are becoming increasingly standard. Due to the security and architectural complexity involved, the need to apply security on a granular basis has become a necessity.

NetSuite can expect dynamic protection which continuously incorporates changes such as moving workloads, IP changes, automatic scale, and the ability to utilize context in the continual security cycle. Workloads for the company’s financial, omnichannel, and ERP application systems integrate cloud elements, incorporate elasticity, and utilize high performance computing (which typically takes place on dedicated bare metal systems). The approach that Illumio presents for these needs is a unique architecture makes it possible for one platform to be uniformly enforceable regardless of where computing is taking place.

Illumio looks to extend its self-launched revolution in data center security technology by telling customer stories one at a time.  The data center landscape has been dominated by archaic models of perimeter security and signature-based prevention. Illumio’s technology is able to address security issues in real time thanks to its declarative programming construction.

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
