Fiber Mountain OPX Wins ITEXPO Best in Show

October 13, 2015

The recently concluded ITEXPO brought together leaders in the field of communications, and a firm integral to providing the type of networking to support the next generation of communications solutions, Fiber Mountain, has certainly made a splash over the last week.

Known for its Glass Core, Fiber Mountain integrates hardware and software to transform network infrastructure and its recent release of its Optical Path Exchange (OPX) 2.1 was the equivalent of yelling cannonball. The OPX 2.1 earned Fiber Mountain the accolade of Best Enterprise Solution from ITEXPO.

The OPX 2.1 plays an integral role in Fiber Mountain’s Glass Core, as it is software defined active layer 1 switch that allows for the Glass Core to leverage Programmable Light Paths (PLP) to create a virtual Connectivity fabric that connects directly with a data center network.

The event took place from October 5-8 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, and hosted an exceptional group of vendors and attendees. TMC CEO Rich Tehrani noted, “Each company presented an array of powerful and exciting solutions, which made it difficult to choose the award recipients,” and those honored with the Best in Show Award, “went above and beyond at demonstrating innovative technological advancements, competitive differentiation and excellence in addressing market need and relevance.”

While at ITEXPO, Fiber Mountain CEO M.H. Raza participated in a panel regarding next generation services and apps via SDN and NFV. The firm also had its layer 1 SDN switching solution on display for attendees.

ITEXPO serves as an illustration of communications and networking of today as well as what tomorrow will bring (remember; the next ITEXPO is just around the corner). Only time will tell what the future holds for the enterprise, but it appears quite clear that firms like Fiber Mountain that exist in the realm of innovation will be a key cog in the wheel of networking.

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
