Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Huawei, Fiber Mountain, SevOne & More

Digital transformation demands more from the network: plain and simple. From the data center and c-suite, to the contact center and conference room innovation is touching all points of industry. Thanks to the cloud, virtualization and software-defined you name it, the future is bright, and development is coming fast and furious. So, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was in transforming network infrastructure news: Time for the Week in Review!

Huawei led the way this week, as it announced the launch of its new metro Multi-Service Optical Transport (MS-OTN) product called OSN 9800 M24. The solution aims to simplify optical networks, and empower carrier to meet the growing bandwidth demand to support the next generation of applications and services. Fiber Mountain made a racket this week. The Glass Core Company unveiled a number of new Fiber Port Aggregators, as well as a new AllPath OPX Layer 1 Optical Path Exchange from Cisco Live. “The addition of these new products to our Glass Core portfolio, along with updated APD orchestration capabilities, continues to enhance the evolving dynamic data center network infrastructure. The Glass Core-based managed and dynamic network infrastructure increases overall operations efficiency in data center networks,” said M. H. Raza, CEO of Fiber Mountain. Find full coverage HERE.

A key component of the innovation taking place today is software defined technologies, and this week SevOne unveiled its new SDN monitoring solution to offer users with improved visibility in Cisco ACI environments. TMC’s Paula Bernier brings you all the details HERE.

Global Cloud Exchange and Sovereign Business Integration Group announced a new interconnection agreement, which has Sovereign connecting its Tier III data center in North London with the GCX Global Network. “Our partnership with GCX will enable us to further support our clients in knowing that their business critical equipment is located in a secure U.K. data center with access to either local based IaaS or a variety of cloud providers whilst achieving the desire for an uncomplicated global reach,” noted the managing director at Sovereign. Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
