Saturn Business Systems Now Equipped with New DataCore Storage Tools

November 11, 2015

Saturn Business Systems already enjoys a reputation for providing solutions to other businesses. That reputation is about to get a serious boost, thanks to a new arrangement between itself and DataCore Software, which calls for Saturn to offer up DataCore's software-defined storage (SDS) and hyper-converged virtual storage area network (SAN) software.

DataCore solutions have been used for years. They are usually used to expand a company’s storage strategy and a virtualization strategy. DataCore's sheer portability is its strongest benefit, with its storage management and virtualization systems working equally well among a wide array of hardware setups. Thus, users can change out system hardware without worrying about any incompatibility with DataCore solutions.

DataCore's Adaptive Parallel I/O Software provides extra power in the system, taking one of the system's biggest constraints—the performance of input/output (I/O) systems—and improving its performance. With the extra boost in the I/O department, storage systems are no longer only able to benefit from device optimization. Now, software optimization can kick in, allowing the server system to benefit from increased computing power.

Saturn, meanwhile, already works with several major partners ranging from IBM and HP to Cisco and Lenovo, making DataCore part of a comparatively elite lineup. With enterprise server solutions, data storage and virtualization solutions in its toolbox, Saturn's stated mission — according to sales director George Pappas — is “...all about making things work more efficiently for our clients and helping them save money.” Saturn can offer a wide variety of solutions depending on a company's needs on the ground, Pappas described, so the company can therefore provide just the solution that's needed most.

With storage itself becoming more necessary than ever, solutions like Saturn and DataCore's become particularly vital. So many contact center tools, from big data analysis to skills-based routing, all depend on the right data being collected and accurately presented. The huge amount of data a company generates needs to be stored where it's both safe and accessible, and solutions like DataCore's SDS and virtual SAN systems should provide that accessibility.

With so much of business these days depending on having the right data at the right time, Saturn and DataCore represent a tool set designed to get that data where it's most needed. That may make these two all that's standing between the best use of data and lost opportunity.

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
