MetTel Wins Internet Telephony Excellence Award, Triples Growth Rate for SD-WAN

NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MetTel, a leading communications firm, today announced that its Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solutions have won Internet Telephony Magazine's 2017 SD-WAN Excellence Award.  A publication of Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), Internet Telephony recognized MetTel for the technical performance and market success of the company's SD-WAN technology, which has tripled its growth rate in the past two years.

The 2017 SD-WAN Excellence Award winners will be featured in the Q4 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.

MetTel, which won the award alongside its strategic partner, VeloCloud, has quickly developed into an innovator in advanced communications and information technology such as software-defined networking (SDN), virtualization, Internet of Things (IoT), enterprise mobility, application and platform development, network integration and management. MetTel recently won a position in the $50 billion, 15-year US General Services Administration's Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract.

SD-WAN is considered among the fastest-growing enterprise networking markets by leading research firms such as Gartner, which gave MetTel thehighest score of any communications firm in its 2017 study of US Alternative WAN Branch Solution Providers.

"SD-WAN as a managed service is so hot that we have customers going straight to solution implementation," said Ed Fox, Vice President of Network Services for MetTel. "Companies realize how quickly they can see returns including amplified network capacity, faster performance and significant cost savings. Customers are moving so fast, they are even skipping the beta test process."

MetTel's converged network integrates with carriers globally, including the four largest mobile carriers in the US, forming a super-network that ensures comprehensive coverage. It provides public cloud access and delivers a single point of contact for services, billing, repairs and provisioning. MetTel offers managed voice and data services to multi-location enterprises using any combination of fixed and wireless technologies that work well for a specific customer and its individual sites.

MetTel's market leading customer service has been recognized with a Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year — Telecommunications, for the past three years, due largely to MetTel's proactive approach to predicting the probability of network strains and addressing them before they become major outages.

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
