Aer Lingus Wins the 2015 Citrix Innovation Award

Today at Citrix Synergy™, Citrix (News - Alert) announced that Aer Lingus has won the company's prestigious Innovation Award. Now in its tenth year, the award recognizes visionary customers who are using Citrix solutions to drive innovative technology implementations that provide business and people with new ways to work better.

Aer Lingus is the national airline of Ireland, transporting over 10.6 million passengers per year. With the assistance of multiple Citrix solutions, the company introduced a highly secure, industry-compliant enterprise mobility solution, providing an unprecedented, consumer-like customer experience, while empowering employees to achieve greater productivity through a more flexible approach to work.

Aer Lingus was selected after an extensive review of nominations from around the world looking for the most transformative companies leveraging Citrix mobility, virtualization, networking and cloud solutions to achieve a compelling new vision for the workplace. Aer Lingus demonstrated innovation in the way they applied Citrix solutions to improve business efficiency, data security and user experience.

This year's finalists also included:

  • Exelon: Exelon, a leading U.S. competitive energy provider, uses Citrix solutions to deliver a secure and highly functional mobile experience to any device, at any time, from anywhere. As a result, the company increased productivity, employee engagement and satisfaction. Most recently, Exelon launched its Electronic Work Package (EWP) project, a revolutionary approach to managing nuclear plant maintenance workflows and documentation.
  • John Holland: John Holland (JH) is one of Australia's leading engineering and construction services providers to the infrastructure, energy resources and transport services sectors. John Holland uses Citrix solutions to improve employee safety and risk management. Centralized data systems provide JH employees with secure access to IT assets and has eliminatedredundant infrastructure at multiple project sites.
  • Miami Marlins: The Miami Marlins is a professional baseball team based in Miami, Florida and a member of the National League in Major League Baseball. After building a new ballpark, which opened in 2012, the Marlins were able to leverage their Citrix virtual desktop environment and migrate more than 450 employees to the new IT environment with no loss in productivity.
