January 27, 2018

Digital transformation has taken hold, driving a new era of innovation in the data center and beyond. Starting with the transformation of network infrastructure and ending with the user experience, change is in the air. And with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation news: Time for the Week in Review!

The IoT is coming! The IoT is coming! And it’s bringing a whole lot of data! It’s just the IoT though, and as data is the most valuable commodity in business today, mining the copious mass of data can prove a struggle. Thankfully, AI, machine learning and the cloud are aiding in the efforts. TMC’s Paula Bernier explores the matter more HERE.

The cloud is no passing fad. This transformational technology is driving a new age of computing, touching all points of technology. This week, Digital Reality announced plans to add direct access to Oracle Cloud by way of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect. Find all the details HERE.

Windstream announced the expansion of its core network in Columbus, Ohio this week. The new expansion entitles the service provider to leverage SDN capabilities to provide a single customer multiple 100G services with optimal efficiency. “The Columbus deployment demonstrates Windstream’s ability to rapidly provision hyper-scale connectivity solutions efficiently and cost-effectively, enabling our customers’ transformation efforts while increasing their competitive edge in the marketplace,” Windstream told TMC. Everything you need to know is HERE.

In the data center space it is difficult to go a day without hearing or reading the word Cisco, and now it is purchasing business application assurance company Skyport Systems. The move zeroes focus in on application performance monitoring (APM), as one can surmise Cisco sees big things for the space. Complete insight and analysis on the acquisition is HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things transforming network infrastructure! See you next week!

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.

Day 1, Cisco Live!

Fiber Mountain is exhibiting at Cisco Live! In Las Vegas for the first time ever! Our first day was hugely successful from just about any perspective - from quantity and quality of booth visitors to successful meetings with customers.
