Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: JPIX, Equinix, Cloudian & More

Capital One Financial Corp. unveiled Critical Stack, its container orchestration platform. "With Critical Stack, our goal is to help more organizations take advantage of the benefits of containerized infrastructure without sacrificing security, compliance, and simplicity," said Liam Randall, co-founder of Critical Stack Inc., who joined Capital One through an acquisition in 2016. Equinix is in the midst of modernizing its network infrastructure, and in announcing its next step of direct physical and virtual connection of its global IBX data centers is signaling much in the way of progress, and illustrating what most companies are doing: digital transformation. Building a digital business requires the ability to reach strategic global destinations on demand, to access everyone that matters, and to bring people, clouds, data and things together," said Sara Baak, Chief Marketing Officer, Equinix. Cloudian announced the availability of Cloudian HyperFile, an integrated NAS controller capable of delivering SMB/NFC file services from on-premises Cloudian HyperStore object storage systems. Coriant announced Japan Internet Exchange Co. Ltd selected the Coriant Groove G30 Network Disaggregation Platform to support the Osaka and Tokyo.  “JPIX is playing a vital role as the core of Japan’s Internet with an advanced network infrastructure optimized for the stringent demands of an evolving application landscape that includes IoT and 5G,” said Petri Markkanen, Managing Director for the Asia Pacific at Coriant. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
