Qualys Announces Cloud Compliance, Security Solution

July 28, 2017

Qualys Inc. has come out with a new tool called CloudView that allows organizations to better understand their compliance and security relative to popular public cloud infrastructure providers including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

CloudView initially includes two apps. Those are Cloud Inventory and Cloud Security Assessment.

The Cloud Inventory app leverages public cloud provider APIs to automate security monitoring and do continuous discovery of resources. It also delivers topological views of infrastructure and relationships across cloud resources. And it enables users to access more information on such parameters as location, network layouts, and security group details.

The Cloud Security Assessment app, meanwhile, provides continuous security monitoring. It looks for threats caused by things like misconfigurations, non-standard deployments, and unwarranted access. And users can automate evaluation and check for compliance relative to such regulations as HIPPA, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and NIST. This app can also be used to do searches in an effort to quickly identify incident root cause. And it provides both real-time and historical views of what’s happening and what happened.

“Accelerated cloud adoption requires new adaptive security solutions that support fast-moving digital transformation efforts,” said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO, Qualys, Inc. “Our new CloudView and its apps add unparalleled visibility and continuous security of all cloud workloads to provide customers complete cloud security in a single, integrated platform and drastically reducing their spend.”

CloudView is scheduled to launch in beta in the fourth quarter of this year.

Qualys serves nine of the top 10 companies in technology, retail and biotechnology as well as many of the top 10 banking, car manufacturing, chemical, food retail, media, software, and telecommunications. The company recently forged a deal with IBM, which will use the Qualys solutions as part of its Managed Security Services portfolio.

“Qualys’ cloud-based platform uniquely provides real-time visibility of IT security and compliance posture on a global scale,“ said John Wheeler, Vice President, Services Strategy and Offering Management, IBM Security. “We are pleased to integrate Qualys’ platform into our MSS portfolio so we can provide customers a continuous view of their security and compliance across all their global assets.

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
