EMC Federation Launches Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution

September 02, 2015

EMC Corporation contains a set of corporate partners that wish to advance the state of business IT. They have created what is called the EMC Federation of which all associated partners can provide their customers with a range of computing options without locking them to any single platform.

That Federation recently announced its new Federation Ready program, to expand its options for software and hardware deployment, and announced the launch of its new Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Solution that is meant to help businesses more efficiently operate their daily IT processes and workflows. Federation partner VMware hosted the announcement location, VMworld, and joins EMC Information Infrastructure, Pivotal, RSA, VCE, and Virtustream as some of the other current partners.

Jeremy Burton, the president of products and marketing for EMC, commented on the savings business customers can expect when switching to the Enterprise Hybrid Cloud.

“Customers can save as much as 24 percent of their IT operating expense by moving to a Hybrid Cloud infrastructure,” Burton said. “The Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud is unique in the market—it combines best-of-breed technology from EMC and VMware, over 40,000 hours of solution engineering, and a pre-defined set of services to get customers up and running in as little as 28 days.”

Features available with the Hybrid Cloud make use of expanded platform support that benefits VMware NSX, Integrated OpenStack, vRealize Operations, and vSphere. It also has more support for security and data protection through disaster recovery and backup, data encryption, continuous availability, and data encryption. It also supports the VCE VxRack System and Xtreme IO flash arrays that can help customers mix workloads across flash and traditional disks.

With this release, EMC and VMware offer their professional installation services and extensive customer support. Customers will be able to choose how they deploy their hardware and software, and when trouble arises, Federation companies will be there to help sort things out.

The report notes that hundreds of Federation partners across the globe have the ability to sell these new products. This means a seemingly uncountable number of business clients could potentially benefit from the new Hybrid Cloud and the versatility and security it offers. Clients such as the University of North Texas, Etisalat, and eHealth have already commented on their work with EMC and the savings they expect to continue to receive by working with the Federation.

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
