Parasoft Named Leader in Field, Updates Continuous Testing Platform

July 30, 2015

Parasoft, a company that develops development testing and API testing software for enterprises, recently announced that an industry report has named it a leader in its field. This recognition comes alongside the latest release of the Parasoft Continuous Testing platform which offers a new approach to REST API testing.

Forrester, in its report, “The Forrester Wave: Modern Application Functional Test Automation Tools, Q2, 2015,” that listed Parasoft as the top vendor in its analysis of current automation testing software on the market. The current version of the Continuous Testing platform consists of the Virtualize 9.9, SOAtest 9.9, and Environment Manager 2.7 tools which address a number of individual needs for developers.

First, they address evolving versions of APIs by making sure that JSON assets and XML/virtualization assets remain in sync with those changes. Wayne Ariola, the chief strategy officer at Parasoft, notes that these functions are meant to be fast and accurate. Development teams do not want to spend hours wading through complex tests to quality-assure their products. With Continuous Testing, both speed and effectiveness enter the equation.

From there, Parasoft has also made it easier for developers to create REST API and service virtualization assets with greater speed. The testing platform now supports Swagger 1.0-2.0 and RAML as part of the package. Upon any error, the environment tests are able to instantly notify developers of any assets that do not mesh with a current version of a REST API. Then developers know exactly which pieces of the puzzle need to be fixed before they can move forward with an entire project.

This latest release comes not long after Parasoft's launch of its Development Testing Platform. With that release, it introduced smart metadata and an update to the Parasoft Process Intelligence Engine.

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
