Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: NEC/Netcracker, Riverbed, Edgewater & More

October 07, 2017

Digital transformation has taken hold, driving a new era of innovation in the data center and beyond. Starting with the transformation of network infrastructure and ending with the user experience, change is in the air. And with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation news: Time for the Week in Review!

PacketFabric hit the headlines this week with the deployment of its SDN-based private network across EdgeConnex data centers. The four data centers are on the edge of the network with the aim of rapid and secure delivery of services and applications from the cloud. "At EdgeConneX, it's our mission to bring advanced connectivity and services to the edge of the network while providing customers with high-scale network capacity where it's needed," shares Clint Heiden, chief commercial officer at EdgeConneX. TMC’s Paula Bernier brings you everything you need to know HERE.

Edgewater Communications Group selected Edgewater Networks Inc. technology to administer network edge orchestration services for IT service providers, resellers and system integrators. Based on Edgewater’s EdgeMarc 2900 suite, the cloud-based solution is a nice addition to the Everest portfolio. All the details are HERE.

As we all know, the cloud is no passing fad, and as enterprises shift architecture and infrastructure in the network some seem to stumble on several common migrations pain points. Special guest, Steve Brar from Riverbed offers the community insight into making migration as painless as possible. Learn about common cloud migration mistakes HERE.

NEC/Netcracker and Telco Systems turned heads as the two partner to push NFV service chaining forward. The two will provide a joint solution, a pairing of Telco Systems’ NFVTime and the NEC/Netcracker NaaS solution to aid in the deployment of NFV service chains across data centers and at customer premises. "Together, NEC/Netcracker and Telco Systems are collaborating in the NaaS market and developing solutions that enable service providers to quickly launch new multivendor value-added services at the network edge, capitalizing on the incredible opportunity to better serve the enterprise market," said Aidan Dunleavy, Director of Partner Alliances at Netcracker. Complete coverage is HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things transforming network infrastructure! See you next week!

Day 3, Cisco Live!

Day 3 of Cisco Live is history! For Fiber Mountain, we continued to enjoy visits from decision makers and influencers who were eager to share their data center and structured cabling challenges.

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.

Day 1, Cisco Live!

Fiber Mountain is exhibiting at Cisco Live! In Las Vegas for the first time ever! Our first day was hugely successful from just about any perspective - from quantity and quality of booth visitors to successful meetings with customers.
