Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Corsa, SevOne, SDN & More

May 28, 2016

The transformation of network infrastructure is taking place before our eyes, migrating from rigid, hardware deployments of the past to high-performing and flexible software-defined solutions of today. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation: time for the Week in Review!

TMC’s Steve Anderson led off the week with coverage of Corsa’s newest offering. Recently the firm announced the arrival of new tools for software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN). This week, it released tools to monitor virtual switching. Anderson has everything you need to know HERE.

This week, SevOne revealed its enhanced digital infrastructure platform, with the aim of bringing value to software-defined deployments. The SevOne digital infrastructure platform includes SevOne 5.6, SevOne Performance Log Appliance 2.1, support for Amazon Web Services Virtual Private Cloud, Viptela SD-WAN, VMware vCenter, Cisco ACI, Docker and more. The complete article is HERE.

The big joke about SDN, ‘Still Done Nothing,’ once held a fair amount of truth, but today this burgeoning area of tech is beginning to get its due. While, many are reluctant to plunge into the software-defined pools, others are diving in head first. As Director of Application Delivery Solutions at Radware told TMC’s Paula Bernier, “We are in the midst of an IT evolution.”  Bernier’s entire analysis is HERE.

The community this week enjoyed the second installment of Sean Applegate’s two part series, “How to Close the Velocity Gap.” Applegate explores how to become a leader in this transformative time, and it’s about far more than just technology. It involves a balancing act of culture and capabilities, which in the end results not only in a healthy bottom line, but happy employees and a seat at the forefront of IT. The full piece is HERE.

Remember to stop by early and often for all things network transformation. See you next week!

Day 2, Cisco Live! 2017

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
