Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: SDN World Congress, Red Hat, Coriant, Facebook & More

Network transformation is taking place all around us. Areas of innovation like NFV, SDN, the cloud and more are driving industry forward; creating more efficient, cost-effective and high performing solutions. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in the transformation of network infrastructure: Time for the Week in Review .

The recently concluded SDN World Congress served as an industry platform for innovation, development and celebration of success. Coming out of the event with some serious momentum was KAIST, as the team was awarded BEST SDN Solution Showcase Award. Learn more about the event and KAIST’s solution DELTA HERE.

This week, Red Hat announced Ansible 2.2, the newest iteration of its open source IT automation framework. There were several areas receiving attention in the recently released version, including: expanded container and windows automation, new modules as well as performance enhancements. Steve Anderson illustrated a power trio working together to develop the new Coriant Voyager. The trio of Coriant, Facebook and the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) will be creating the voyager with SDN, APIs and compliance in mind – doing so in OpenDaylight with open source options. Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
