October 08, 2016

In the Transforming Network Infrastructure Community we address the bleeding edge in technology and solutions enabling this “renovation” to take place. From the cloud to NFV, SDN, optical and more, there is no shortage of development taking place. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation: Time for the Week in Review!

loyal readership has endorsed Hillary Clinton as the best candidate to bring forth positive impact on the data center space. Find a full poll recap and analysis HERE.

With SDN surging, Kubernetes 1.4 strengthened SDN security in Weaveworks’ Weave Net 1.7. “In Weave Net 1.7, we have now provided integration with Kubernetes security policies. So you can now have fine-grained security controls with Weave Net, specifying policies in Kubernetes and having it all automatically applied by Weave Net,” explained Kubernetes COO Matthew Lodge. Complete coverage is HERE.

Also in the news, Digital Realty announced the arrival of its Service Exchange Interconnection service. The new service comes as the result of a partnership with Megaport, which allows customers to control network access via desktop, phone and the Megaport API. Casey Houser has everything you need to know HERE.

Digital transformation is at hand, this we know. An interesting aspect of said transformation is the role of CFO’s in this evolving landscape. In years past, the CFO played a small part in IT decision making, but today this is changing. Read more about the evolving role of CFO in the digital landscape HERE.
