Telarix to Automate UNIFI's Global Network Operations

January 27, 2016

The increasing volume of traffic digital service providers are facing is only increasing, which is exacerbating the limitations of their available infrastructure. Until more investments are made to increase their capability, smart or software based solutions are improving operational efficiencies to take on more customers. As an international telecom carrier, UNIFI Communications (UNIFI) has chosen the Telarixs iXLink and iXTools SaaS platform to automate its business operations and implement unified call routing.

Headquartered in New York City, UNIFI Communications provides enhanced telecommunication services and solutions as well as wholesale voice termination services, pure IP phone systems, International SIP trunks and satellite, terrestrial, undersea, wireless and enterprise network infrastructure development services.

This type of presence by UNIFI requires automated operations with greater visibility around the world. In selecting Telarix, UNIFI will be part of a community of more than 4,000 carriers that rely on its electronic information exchange.

The Telarix SaaS platform seamlessly integrates into company systems to simplify the process of exchanging business documents by governing how traffic routing, billing, swapping, and settlement choices are made so automating decisions can be applied.

Adrian Shatku, President and CEO of UNIFI, said, “By using a single consolidated platform across our network, we will gain unparalleled visibility into our business, enabling improved operating efficiencies in order to capitalize on new opportunities while reassigning current resources to other functions for improved business performance.”

The iXLink solution has been designed to address the specific needs of carriers as they navigate the different codes, regulations, non-standardize rates and document discrepancies in the telecom world. As a single global business to business information exchange service, it provides a secure and collaborative environment.

With XLink, UNIFI will spend less time, money and risk by moving from manual processes to one that is automated. This translates to less paperwork, faster transmission of documents, higher validation numbers and fewer errors.

If companies are not able to adapt quickly to the changing world of technology, they lose their competitive edge. As Brian Crawford, VP of Technology and Business Development at UNIFI, said, “Telarix will allow us to be more nimble, efficient, and tactical with our operational decisions,” which is what is needed in today’s environment.

Day 2, Cisco Live!

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
