Magenic Enables Linius Video Virtualization Engine™ on Microsoft Azure

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Magenic Technologies, a leading business technology consulting firm, is pleased to announce that it has completed the integration of the Linius Technologies Limited Video Virtualization Engine™ (VVE) with Microsoft Azure cloud services. Linius is recognized as a leading provider of content intelligence and the next evolution of video streaming.

Recognizing that video accounts for the vast majority of Internet traffic, Microsoft, Amazon and IBM are all making significant investments in virtualizing video technologies in the cloud. Linius is responsible for patenting the world's only video virtualization technology, which is now available on all three cloud providers as a result of Magenic's integration with Microsoft Azure. The cloud-support VVE makes video file metadata exposed, making video as flexible as all other forms of content and data. Linius enables Microsoft, Amazon and IBM to bring much greater value from the cloud and artificial intelligence to the video market.

Magenic's New York General Manager, Eric Feige, noted, "This project enables many new applications of 'intelligent video.'  It's been said that every company is a technology company.  As video content becomes componentized through virtualized video services, we are now seeing how every company can also be a media company."

Chris Richardson, CEO of Linius, said, "The integration with Microsoft is key to our mission to scale rapidly and our vision of making the world's video available as data. Our major cloud providers are very focused on virtualizing the video management tools in the cloud, but only Linius can virtualize the actual video file. We feel strongly that we are the missing link in these providers' video services."

Linius' VVE technology has the potential to transform many multi-billion dollar markets, and is initially focused on:

  • Anti-Piracy: Applying proven data protection methods to video to solve piracy;
  • Search: Search within videos and compile new videos on the fly;
  • Security and Defense: Intelligent search and immediate distribution of security footage; and
  • Personalized Advertising: Hyper personalized to individuals, timeslots and content.
