Intracom Telecom Delivers Public Safety Project in Netherlands

ATHENS, Greece, September 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

Intracom Telecom, a global telecommunication systems and solutions vendor, announced that it has undertaken a project to supply its StreetNode™ 26GHz to ProRail, the national Netherland Railway Infrastructure Operator with a network of approximately 3000km, as backhaul to CCTV and security/surveillance assets at the railway stations.

More specifically, Intracom Telecom has partnered with WiFi4ALL, a Netherlands-based broadband integrator and wireless ISP, to supply, for the first phase of the project, 21 hubs and 78 terminals. WiFi4ALL undertook all the engineering, placement and configuration while Intracom Telecom performed the RF planning and supplied the equipment, which, for the first stage, has been installed at 16 railway stations throughout the country, from Groningen to Maastricht.

Following an international tender process, the Dutch railway operator did get to their satisfaction Intracom Telecom's technology as the transmission infrastructure in and on the station's platforms and surounding area as a complimentary means to fibre. ProRail is committed to providing secure transportation service to customers and goods, while dealing with high passenger flows, and, therefore, the monitoring and management of crowd control is of paramount importance. To address this challenge, an advanced CCTV solution has been installed incorporating Intracom Telecom's wireless transmission equipment, StreetNode™, that is used to connect hundreds of IP cameras. The units relay all the collected video, data and alarm signals from the CCTV cameras to each of the station control rooms preserving HD picture quality at all times.

Intracom Telecom's solution for ProRail's network includes Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint software-defined radios that allow for quick installation, highly reliable, massive capacity for high quality HD video surveillance for smart cities, border and perimeter security, CCTV for railways, airport security and more.

Intracom Telecom's StreetNode™ offerings address the challenges and accelerate the deployment of surveillance infrastructures for public and private sector organizations, providing technically-complete solutions for a variety of modern security applications.

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.
