Tollgrade Communications appoints vice president of corporate marketing

Jul 19, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Tollgrade Communications, Inc., a provider of fault analytics and broadband services, has announced the appointment of Kimberly Getgen as vice president of corporate marketing.

In this role, Kim will be responsible for Tollgrade's communications, messaging, and branding strategies. Getgen will report to Tom Kolb, COO of Tollgrade.

"Kim's knowledge about the smart grid industry has helped position Tollgrade as a smart grid sensor market leader. In her new role she will be in a position to make an impact across the entire company," said Edward H. Kennedy, Tollgrade's President and CEO. "We are happy to have Kim on board. She is a tremendous addition to our executive team." Before joining Tollgrade, Kim was Director of Product Marketing at smart metering company, Echelon Corporation, where she developed a product and partner readiness process that helped to significantly increase revenue and market share during her tenure. Prior to Echelon, Kim worked in the cybersecurity market for nearly 15 years where she served as vice president of Marketing for a number of companies including Reconnex, a venture-backed start-up she co-founded, which was later acquired by McAfee, the company said.

"I'm proud to be a part of such an innovative company. With its predictive fault analytics products, Tollgrade is redefining a new global standard for reliability, allowing electric utilities and broadband service providers to dramatically reduce service restoration times," said Ms Getgen. "I look forward to helping Tollgrade tell its incredible story and heighten its brand awareness." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent. The History of Fiber in Data Centers, Part I: Past and Present

Fiber Mountain, as our company name suggests, believes fiber cabling must play a central role in helping data centers scale affordably as bandwidth needs continue to grow. Four Reasons to Make the Leap to SDN in Your Data Center

I'm always fascinated by what causes a business trend to emerge, grow and sometimes expand to actually redefining the industry as a whole. Having spent years in the technology field, I've found the networking sector particularly exciting in this regard because true innovation can and does transform entire segments of our industry. Revolutionary processes and technologies make past deployments and best practices look laughable in light of recent innovations.

Reflections From the Fiber Mountain Launch

Over the past weeks and months, the Fiber Mountain team has worked hard to prepare for our company launch at this year's Interop New York. In this post, I want to share our thoughts from the days leading up to the October 1st unveiling and about the event itself at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
