ZipRealty's New Mobile Website Features Full-Screen Home Photos and Consistent Global Navigation

EMERYVILLE, Calif., April 25, 2013 -ZipRealty, Inc. (http://www.ziprealty.com) (NASDAQ: ZIPR), the most prominent online real estate brokerage company and technology provider in the United States, today launched a new mobile website, http://m.ziprealty.com, according to Jamie Wilson, Senior Vice President of Technology.

Consumers can now access comprehensive real estate data on ZipRealty's full website from their mobile devices, without having to download an app. In addition to viewing all of the homes for sale in a particular area, interested home buyers can immediately access the most accurate and complete real estate data, including home listings that are updated every two minutes, multiple photos, interactive maps, neighborhood statistics, nearby schools, public transportation, assess home Walk Scores and connect with a qualified real estate agent, among other features.

"Our mobile website features were greatly inspired by the website, yielding a consistent user experience," says Mr. Wilson. "Users coming from our full website should find the mobile website intuitive, easy-to-use, and well-designed with consistent global navigation. We offer geolocation so users can easily find their current location when they're on the go, including nearby homes for sale, and easily contact a local ZipRealty agent or Powered by Zip agent." Unlike the competition, ZipRealty offers a rich experience through full-screen home photoson the home detail page, says Mr. Wilson. The ZipRealty home detail page includes an interactive map, so you don't have to navigate away from the page to see the neighborhood and other related features.

The mobile website also allows consumers to cross multiple platforms during their real estate search, says Mr. Wilson. "All of your search activity, settings and saved homes are synced across both the full website and the mobile site," he says, "allowing for true mobility in your search for a new home." One unique feature of the mobile website is ZipRealty's Listing Check tool, giving buyers the ability to determine which homes are really for sale and which ones are off the market. In a Data Quality Report recently released by ZipRealty, the company discovered that prominent real estate websites consistently fail to display a significant number of MLS-listed homes for sale, while also presenting a large number of sold homes as if they were currently for sale. The study results show that up to 30% of MLS-listed homes for sale are missing from other real estate websites, and over 15% of the listings on these websites are stale, expired or inactive. In contrast, ZipRealty never includes sold homes in search results, and has an accuracy rate of greater than 99% on MLS-listed homes for sale.

"Access to our Listing Check tool, especially on your mobile device, in today's competitive and fast-moving real estate market gives home buyers a competitive advantage, especially in many of the metro areas we serve, where inventory has declined significantly," says Mr. Wilson.

To complement ZipRealty's mobile website, consumers can download ZipRealty's free app for iPhone and Android mobile devices. The 4.5-star rated iPhone app and award-winning StreetScan(TM) technology allows home buyers to instantly search, view and connect with your local real estate market at home or on the go.

The History of Fiber in Data Centers, Part II

As I stated at the close of "The History of Data Centers, Part I," Fiber Mountain™ believes data centers must evolve from hub and spoke architecture—in which traffic is aggregated and delivered to a central hub—to a design that includes many direct connections.

Three Things Your Boss Wants—No, Needs—To Know About Glass Core

Fiber Mountain™ CEO and Founder— plus my longtime friend—M.H. Raza does a terrific job on this blog of explaining how our Glass Core™ architecture transforms the way data centers build their network infrastructure.

The History of Fiber in Data Centers, Part I: Past and Present

Fiber Mountain, as our company name suggests, believes fiber cabling must play a central role in helping data centers scale affordably as bandwidth needs continue to grow. Before I go further down the path to the future, however, I want to back up and provide a high-level history of fiber in the data center.

Four Reasons to Make the Leap to SDN in Your Data Center

I'm always fascinated by what causes a business trend to emerge, grow and sometimes expand to actually redefining the industry as a whole. Having spent years in the technology field, I've found the networking sector particularly exciting in this regard because true innovation can and does transform entire segments of our industry. Revolutionary processes and technologies make past deployments and best practices look laughable in light of recent innovations.

Reflections From the Fiber Mountain Launch

Over the past weeks and months, the Fiber Mountain team has worked hard to prepare for our company launch at this year's Interop New York. In this post, I want to share our thoughts from the days leading up to the October 1st unveiling and about the event itself at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
