Voiceworks Deploys TelcoBridges Tmedia Gateways Throughout the Netherlands

Jan 29, 2013 ( via COMTEX) -- Boucherville, Quebec: TelcoBridges today announced that Voiceworks, a leading provider of mobile telephony, fixed telephony, and data solutions in the Netherlands, is deploying Tmedia(TM) Gateway solutions to support its customers.

Voiceworks is the first MVNE in the Netherlands to provide a complete Fixed Mobile Convergence portfolio of data and communication services to end-users, service providers, MVNO's, wholesalers and dealers. Its state-of-the-art fixed-mobile integration brings the features and functionality of a traditional phone system to mobile users.

The need to expand prompted Voiceworks to consider scaling its current infrastructure, or evaluate new technologies to meet its growing demands. Voiceworks chose to deploy TelcoBridges Tmedia solutions, to address SIGTRAN/SS7, TDM and VoIP media switching all in one box. Today, one redundant Tmedia Gateway is fulfilling the role of multiple pieces of legacy equipment used by other traditional operators. As a result, Voiceworks has enhanced the performance, redundancy and reliability of its network at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions.

"By delivering the TDM/SIP and SIGTRAN/SS7 gateway functionality without requiring additional third-party equipment, we're able to reduce acquisition costs, and simplify maintenance requirements for Voiceworks and their customers," states Gaetan Campeau, CEO of TelcoBridges. "Our efforts with Voiceworks have identified a migration path that will open new doors for TelcoBridges in the year ahead, and we're thankful to Voiceworks for helping us validate the comprehensive capabilities of the Tmedia family." "In today's 24-hour economy, mobile communications capabilities play a critical role in our customer's success, and it's our responsibility to provide them with telecommunications solutions that are always on, without fail," said Stijn Nijhuis, CEO of Voiceworks "By working with TelcoBridges, we're able to meet the most rigorous demands of even our largest customers." Today, thousands of companies rely on Voiceworks voice and data services.

Reflections from an Interop Veteran and Alum

When I returned to the Fiber Mountain™ offices in Connecticut after exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2015, I couldn’t help but think about how much the event has evolved through the years. I have been attending this seminal IT and networking conference since its inception in 1986 when it was called the TCP/IP Vendor Workshop, focused on interoperability of various TCP/IP program stacks.

What Fiber Mountain's Interop Recognition Means for Our Industry

When Fiber Mountain™ began its journey with a launch at Interop New York last fall, we certainly believed that we had a solution that would make a significant impact in the data center space.

What On-Board Optics Means for Density and Flexibility

This past week I read an article in Lightwave Magazine and another in Network World about the formation of the Consortium for On-board Optics (COBO), a group that seeks to create specifications and increase the faceplate density of data center switches and adapters.

Scaling Hyperscale in an Age of Exponential Growth and Virtualization

Over the past several years server, network, storage and application virtualization has revolutionized the way hyperscale data centers are built by consolidating workloads. The trend has simplified network architecture significantly and resulted in huge cost savings as well.
