Stock to Watch: Alcatel-Lucent Up 11.5% (ALU)

Dec 14, 2012 (SmarTrend(R) Spotlight via COMTEX) -- Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) is one of today's best performing low-priced stocks, up 11.5% to $1.23 on 1.1x average daily volume. Thus far today, Alcatel-Lucent has traded 26.8 million shares, vs. average volume of 23.4 million shares per day. The stock has outperformed the Dow (11.5% to the Dow's -0.1%) and outperformed the S&P 500 (11.5% to the S&P's -0.3%) during today's trading.

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) is currently priced 3.6% above its average consensus analyst price target of $1.18. The stock should find resistance at its 200-day moving average (MA) of $1.53, as well as support at its 50-day MA of $1.08.

Alcatel-Lucent manufactures telecommunications equipment, and offers telecommunications services. The Company's telecommunications equipment and services enable its customers to send or receive virtually any type of voice or data transmission. Alcatel-Lucent designs and builds public and private networks, communications systems and software, and data networking systems.

In the past 52 weeks, Alcatel-Lucent share prices have been bracketed by a low of $0.91 and a high of $2.66 and are now at $1.23, 35% above that low price. Over the past week, the 200-day moving average (MA) has gone down 0.8% while the 50-day MA has declined 0.4%.
